Default Questions about GWF

Hello,

I'm from Belgium and sometimes its quiet hard to understand what Factions is really about... So I would like to ask you a couple of questions about it.
I know there are 2 Factions, 2 sides, the good and the bad guys.
If you go for the Luxon, how will your character be? Will it have different looks then the Kurzick? Will you be able to play against Luxon characters only if you choose Luxon or will you be able to play with Kurzicks too?

The new event is coming soon and I am looking forward to play it. But I heard the preordering starts tomorrow (28th), what does that mean? Can't you just buy it as a retail version in the stores?

And then, this topic, I don't quiet understand what its all about. They say if your guild is Kurzick, you cannot join if you are Luxon... And can you make a Luxon character and a Kurzick character? Or can you only choose 1 Faction, side?

I hope you can answer my questions, its a bit complicated to understand, sorry for that, I did my best

first they are from the same continent so they look the same.

you create your character (or one you already have) and join the one of your choice.

i am waiting for more info on this.

preorder will do you no good until there is a preorder event which is next march 24.

since you have GW you dont need the preorder to join the fun

EDIT

who are the bad guys may depend on how they set things up.

both may have a good/bad side or both sides may be good/bad

you will almost have to be able to switch sides later as well

I wouldn't say the good and the bad guys. Just 2 sides of a coin, neither good or bad but fighting for their faction. As for the 2 factions fighting beside or working or whatever. We really don't know until it comes out. As goes for looks and diffrences in facial wise. We can assume but mainly rumors but when we assume we make a "ass" out of you and "me". I say wait for the PVE weekend.

Something I don't really get... (taken from Factions FAQ)
Quote:
What are alliances and how do they work in Guild Wars Factions?
Guilds can join together to form guild alliances. Allied guilds share Alliance chat and can visit each other's guild halls. Alliances can also gain control of cities and towns in Cantha by participating in Alliance Missions, which give them the ability to trigger events and gain access to exclusive areas.
Does this means that, let's say, 10 guilds can become 1 guild? And on the gaining control of cities and towns in Cantha, will this be for the winners of Alliance Missions only? Or will other people who are not in a (or that) guild go to those cities and towns too?

Quote:
What is a faction? Should I join one?
By aligning with one of two warring factions, alliances can gain and hold territory by participating in Faction Battles. The outcome of these battles influences the progress of the war between the two factions. The current battle lines and indications of the control of cities and towns are always visible on the world map. Guild membership in Guild Wars Factions is extremely appealing and interesting for both cooperative and PvP players. By joining an alliance and achieving success with Alliance Missions, your guild gains control of high-level towns. With that control, guild members acquire access to elite cooperative content. In Factions, the strongest guilds most likely will not be made up exclusively of PvP or cooperative players. The strongest guilds will be a combination of both types of players, and such a combination will result in benefits for all members.
How will the beginners ever reach to these high-level towns?

I think I'm making worries too much. I'm like a perfectionist, can't do anything about that, that's just me.
